Time to dig and feel deeply: Taurus New Moon
Manifesting the dream we have for our life requires us to instinctively and intuitively *feel* our way forward.
Lately, I am finding that anchoring into the cycles of the Earth and the stars helps me stay grounded, which helps me move through my days with more focus and confidence in making the right choices for me and my kids.
🌎 Following the flow of the seasons of the Earth gives us clues to know when to rest, when to create, and when to release, so we don’t burn ourselves out. ✨
As the years have ticked by, my astrology practice has become more embodied for me, as I see the cues of the world around me aligning with the energy of each astrology season. It’s like learning the steps to a long forgotten dance so I am moving in time and flow with the world, rather than stepping on everyone’s toes and wearing myself out.
And right now, we’re about the have a new moon that welcomes in the full energy of the seedlings of spring putting down roots to tap into deep nourishment for growing into mighty trees one day. 🌳
What are you ready to dig into deeply in your life to bring it into being? Or are you still struggling to find a flow and rhythm to your life?
Where do you want to sink roots into life to grow something wonderful? 🌳
🌚 This Taurus New Moon on Friday, May 19 @ 11:53AM EDT asks you:
❓ What is worth you digging deep to invest your precious time and energy?
✨ What is the kind of life you want to live the delights and nourishes you?
⚡️And, do you know how to decisively trust your instincts and feelings to manifest it?
What do you value about yourself? What is worth your time and money? What idea or dream do you want to invest your precious energy into manifesting it into a physical form?
Recently I had another horse moment that taught me something about myself and what I value:
I am standing ankle deep in a pile of horse poop, and realize I am not repulsed by it, which I note, is curious. I am also sweating my brains out and have just dumped an entire wheelbarrow full of dirty shavings from cleaning a horse stall.
It is hard, dirty work, cleaning horse stalls in the hot Florida sun. As I take a moment to mop sweat off my face, I catch sight of a beautiful black horse in the paddock nearby. She is running at full speed toward me up the paddock and I don’t know if she’ll stop or go right through the fence. She stops at the last moment and spins to buck her back hooves up as if she can barely contain herself. And it feels like such a precious moment seeing her in full power and wildness - a moment of medicine to remind me to do the same, to feel that vibrancy and strength in my own body.
This is a moment I would not have witnessed had I not been cleaning horse stalls. And I realized that most people at the barn pay someone else to do this work. Work I am doing happily for horses I take lessons on, but do not own.
And it hits me, the perfect lesson for this Taurus Season: I value learning how to do this kind of animal care, I value the benefit I receive in turn and find it a worthy exchange. I value using this time to teach my kids how to do this kind of work so they know how hard, dirty, and necessary it is so one day when we own a horse they can choose to use the time to bond with their horse, or know how worth it is to pay someone well to do the job right.
I also realized how much I value my body, heart, and mind - for being able to do this kind of hard work with a smile from my heart, for the kindness I share with every living being we encounter at the barn, and for my genuine delight at learning something new and spending time with the horses.
Taurus is the energy of Earth… knowing what we value and find worthy of creating and producing that brings beauty and nourishment to our lives.
It is also about the sensory experience of being in these beautiful human bodies… fully delighting in the feel of the sunshine on your skin, the wind in your hair, the smell of jasmine in the breeze, the taste of lemonade, the sight of a beautiful horse, the sound of the birds singing while you eat your breakfast.
The more we note these little moments that delight our senses, the easier it is to be present to life in a way that makes the challenging days easier to navigate with grace rather than grouching.

Rewilding your senses to escape mental auto-pilot
I can feel myself finally thawing out. The fullness of life coursing through parts of me that have been dormant. My ability to see life from a wide angle is deepening, as I am less overwhelmed by all the input.
More able to trust what I cannot explain, and go with the choices I make on instinct and intuition, rather than cycling into analysis paralysis.
I welcome this time of year as it feeds the Earth this energy of renewal, deepening of experience, and a feast for our senses: birds singing, sun shining, flowers blooming, jasmine-scented air, and the warmth of summer flirting with us, inviting us to late sunsets and starry nights.
This time of year invites us to slow down, remember what is truly worth our time and attention, and to take notice of what we are creating (consciously and unconsciously). When you take the blinders off and look around, what catches your attention?
Are there things that make you smile… or cringe? What brings vibrancy to your life? What nourishes your body, heart, and soul to help sustain you during the times that ask too much of you?
For me, I find it’s about breaking away from living on mental auto-pilot that makes the difference in whether my body responds to a challenge with grace or whether I get caught in nervous system overwhelm. When I can lean into this, I find unexpected opportunities and inspiration.
👍 Using intuition + instinct to decide = 🤗.
👎 Letting my mind “should” or “supposed to” me into something = 😬.
Rewilding your Instincts Pro Tip: This can be as simple as taking a breath before making a choice to check in to see how it *feels* around your heart and in your belly - light, open, warm, expansive, moving upward…(YES!) or tight, cold, heavy, thick, pulling downward (NO!).
To be clear, learning to honor your first instinct and intuition does take some practice to know the difference between an honest NO vs a fear response, and to know an honest YES vs your mind talking you into something. But once you do, it’s a wonderful way to make decisions with less effort and more trust in yourself to know what is right for you (and the kiddos in your life).
Need help attuning to what a true “YES” and a clear “NO” *feel* like in your body? I love teaching how to rewild and attune to your senses! I have some openings coming up for 1:1 private sessions in my private practice, The Alkhemaerie.
